"Little Switzerland of America"

Known as "Switzerland of America," Ouray is a natural alpine environment in Southwest Colorado's San Juan Mountains. Here, you can enjoy a variety of activities, year round.

One of Ouray's most popular, and well known, attractions is Ouray Hot Springs Pool. The family-friendly pool, owned and operated by the City of Ouray, consists of five geothermal heated mineral pools, with temperatures ranging from 75 to 104 degree Fahrenheit. Here, you can relax in an adult-only soaking section, tackle a couple of water slides, or take a shot at the obstacle course and climbing wall. Unlike many similar hot springs, Ouray Hot Springs contains no sulfur, so it you avoid that unpleasant odor found in similar pools.

Box Canyon Park is another popular Ouray attraction. The park's roaring Box Canyon Falls have a 285 foot drop to the riverbed below the headwaters. You can enjoy a short half-mile hike in the park, and take an entertaining walk across a suspension bridge overlooking a gorge. The canyon is also home to the rare black swift bird.

If you have the nerve, you definitely want to take on Ouray Via Ferrata. This family-friendly course involves climbing along the cliffs of the Uncompahgre Gorge. It also has a 75-foot ladder bridge, the Skybridge.

Reviews

This place is amazing! The cabins here are so cute, the hosts are really nice and helpful, and they were clean too! The cabin had a nice deck where you could eat and a great small kitchen that allowed you to cook easily.

This place is amazing. The deck faces the river and is so peaceful. It was so quiet. The cabin has all the amenities you need. It's fully equipped with all utensils and cookwear. There are plenty of outlets and plenty of room to keep personal items out of the way.

These cabins are new and super clean. They are well equipped and in a great walking location to town. Peaceful views of the mountains and creek from the deck. We will definitely be back.
